Hello. I sent an email to Kate Hodgkin regarding a possible band exchange possibility. May I check if the email has been received? My school is currently working on the itinerary for our overseas trip and we are really excited to work with musicians from Perth. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Dear sir,
I am an amateur and enthusiastic trumpet player and currently play with the Huntingdon Concert Band (in England) visit us at huntingdonshireconcertband.com, (if you look at the photos I am the trumpet player with the moustache) we also have a swing band subsidiary called HuBB Huntingdon Big Band.
I will be visiting Western Australia in the very near future (14/1/12) and am intending to stay with friends at Warnbro (near Mandurrah).
I have a couple of concerts and a workshop day shortly after my return to England in February so will be packing my mouthpiece to “buzz” while I am away and I would really love to keep my lip in.
I am not sure how close to Warnbro you rehearse, but if it is possible I would be really keen to sit in on one or two of your rehearsals whilst I am over there.

Hi Ted,
Thank you for your query. Warnbro is about an hour away from where we rehearse in Morley, so that may not be convenient. I’ll forward your message to band president Marisa Hobbs, or if you prefer to email her directly her address is marisa.ritchie@det.wa.edu.au . She might be able to suggest other bands closer to the area you’ll be staying at.
Kind regards,
Marianne

Hi Marianne,
Thanks for responding, you are quite right Warnbro is probably too far to travel for a bit of “fun” tooting …. although I do currently travel 22 miles each way to both my big band and concert band rehearsals (but of course I have transport here and don’t have to rely on my friends to run me around). Your band was the only one I found on net in the Perth area but if your band Prez’ can identify something a bit closer that might be possible for me. (I am already getting it in the neck from my wife about wanting to take my trumpet on holiday !!).
Fingers crossed and may thanks once again.
Ted
