The WASWE Swing Band is a subsidiary of the WA Symphonic Wind Ensemble Inc. which is a not-for-profit association created for the furtherance of community music. Both ensembles feature a diverse mix of professional, semi-professional and student musicians aged 17 and up.

Profits from all performances go directly to the ensemble fund for the purchase of much needed music, and the upkeep of instruments and equipment. The constitution forbids the remuneration of individual musicians for performances- we do it for the love of music and the organisation.

Fees are negotiable and will be dependent on the location, time and length of performance required.

For Bookings/Enquiries please contact: Kate Hodgkin

WASWE is proudly sponsored by the City of Bayswater.

Vocalist – Kate Hodgkin

Kate’s love of music began with obtaining a recorder aged 3. She joined her first choir aged 7 and began learning the clarinet aged 10. Kate graduated from Perth Modern School on a full music scholarship (clarinet) in 1996. In the same year, she toured the USA with the National Children’s Wind Orchestra, and attended the Conservatorium/ECU in 1997/98.

Since then, Kate has played clarinet and alto clarinet in a number of wind ensembles, and sung with a variety of choirs including I Voci and Swan Harmony. She has also performs in small jazz ensembles for private functions.
