About Us

The West Australian Symphonic Wind Ensemble (WASWE) is a community-based concert band and swing band located in Perth, Western Australia. WASWE was first formed in 1987 and has been proudly supported by the City of Bayswater since 1988. 

 

WASWE organises and performs around three concerts each year, often featuring other local musicians, bands and musical groups. We also perform at a number of community events such as the City of Bayswater’s Carols By Candlelight.

 

Currently, WASWE is under the direction of Ross Brennan, Ted Tait, Ventia Webber (wind ensemble) and Ivan Shaw (swing band), the number of musicians continues to increase and includes graduating year 12s, college/University students, music/instrumental teachers, and members of the community, who all share a love of music.
