ANZAC Day Buglers

WASWE is honoured to have a number of very experienced and talented trumpet (and bugle) players who additionally do a lot of work for the community. This year, as they have in previous years, they will be performing a number of bugle calls in the lead up to and on ANZAC day. Our buglers will play the Last Post, a minute silence and Reveille. We wish them luck with their preparations and thank them for their community service.

Autumn River Festival 2016

The WASWE Swing Band performed at the City of Bayswater’s Autumn River Festival at Bayswater Riverside Gardens on April 3rd. The ensemble played a wonderful performance under the skilled direction of Ivan Shaw. Bravo and thank you to the ensemble members for their hard work, to Kate Packer for vocals and to a couple of last minute fill-ins including WASWE’s director Ross Brennan on alto saxophone.

To a crowd of festival goers, the ensemble played a set list of jazz standards:

  • Come Fly With Me
  • Alright, Ok, You Win
  • Cry Me a River
  • Feeling Good
  • Fever
  • Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man
  • Georgia on My Mind
  • Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps
  • Comes Love
  • I Just Want to Make Love to You
  • Straighten Up & Fly Right
